Large numbers of whitetail deer are yarding up all along HWY 61 from the Duluth area through the Grand Marais area. Typical for this time of year, deer are crossing roadways near Lake Superior especially after dark. I counted 74 deer and 7 carcasses in 15 miles on / near HWY 61 roadway March 13th @10pm between Grand Marais and Judge Magney State Park and more than 150 deer and 11 carcasses in 18 miles between Grand Marais and Lutsen same day 5pm.
